What this can include
- Keeping to familiar daily routines
- Nourishing meals and support at mealtimes
- Activities that keep mind and body active
- Help getting out into the community
- Understanding changing needs and behaviour
- Breaks for family carers
Dementia affects hundreds of thousands of families in the UK, and the number grows every year. Behind every diagnosis is a person who still wants to live their life in full, and a family who wants to know they are safe. That is where Midland Health Care Services comes in.
We work with each person in an active, interactive way: making sure they eat a healthy, balanced diet, keep doing the things they enjoy, and stay connected to their community.
Starting dementia care at home
With or without a formal diagnosis, people living with memory loss often need support to stay as independent as possible. Recognising this early helps families build care into the daily routine, so the person keeps their independence for longer.
Our carers are trained to support people living with dementia in their own homes, using approaches that build confidence and reduce distress.
How our carers help
- Keeping your loved one safe at home, while encouraging confidence and interaction
- Preparing nourishing meals and making mealtimes sociable, to encourage healthy eating
- Creating chances to see people and get out and about
- Offering activities that lift the mood and keep the body moving
- Understanding changing needs and behaviours, and adapting the care to match
- Giving family members a break from some of their caring responsibilities
You can relax knowing a caring, experienced team is looking after the person you love.
